HellooooFall

After a GREAT family week..full of food, laughter, and more food! My sister and I went running the other day; I was so winded. It was pathetic. ha Anywho it's back to a less noisy house, work, and hopefully some exciting adventures! :) You'll just have to wait and see what they are!
The leaves are changing slowly, but surely, letting us know fall is here. And at this point, I'm so ready for fall-- it means layering and jackets!! This brown bomber jacket is just perfect for the transitional fall weather! I got it last year and it's great to dress up or down. Even though the brown is versitile; I'd like to get a black one as well! Speaking of jackets...I tried on a few winter jackets today at Loft but they were either too small or too large. booo

bright yellow flats ~ jcpenny (probs the only thing I've bought there since I was a young las)

I really like this angle.

silver spoon ring ~jewelry partay
frog mood ring ~ store at the beach (I think it's tre cute)

yellow/turquiose earrings~kohls
royal blue shirt with white, green and fuschia floral detail (are you suprised? you should know me by now and my floral obsession! :p)
pearls vintage
jean skirt american eagle
Truth: I haven't worn a jean skirt in... 3 years? ha! I've never loved jean skirts/shorts. I hate the way they ride up and feel stiff ..? (I guess that would be a good word.) UNTIL I found my high waisted shorts and this skirt. I know one of each isn't much (obviously) but it's fine for now! The fit is what really matters. Don't ever think or say that a trend doesn't look right on you..it probably just doesn't fit your shape correctly. Just keep looking and never get frustrated, there are plenty of different styles to go around. :)

xoxo to all of you!
Hope you all had a fab weekend! :)

p.s. I wanted to share with all of you that I got accepted to Teen Vogue Fashion University! I'll be going to events at Juicy and H&M along with seminars with Rachel Roy, Vera Wang, Anna Wintour and so many more. I'm extactic to be given such an amazing opportunity. I'll take tonss of pictures, so all of you will feel as if you're right there with me!

iKeepUpWithTheKardashians

This is an inspiration post and also because I want to post about them. :) I love their show! They're fabulous, funny and so entertaining! (I hope I haven't posted about them before..hmm) Not only are they beautiful, successful, and family orienteded; they're real.
Jenner-Kardashian Family
Even Kendall is getting into the modeling world. Have any of you seen this 14 year old strike a pose? She looks like she's in her 20s! She's beautiful! Those are some genes the Jenner-Kardashians have! I must admit I have a little crush on Rob..even if he's a little immature. ha
pretty in navy and blacks
always dressed to the nines! I love Kim's skirt and nude top. She's definitely one of my stylish dolls. Everytime I watch the show, I always wish I could step into their closets. :p Who wouldn't?

They are constantly on magazines, red carpets and doing events. They seem to have a crazy life, but I'm glad they let us have a little glimpse into it! :)

I love their gorgeous long locks and curvy-licious bods.

The infamous picture of Kim and Justin Beibs that was tweeted for all the world to see. This picture alone caused so many Beiber fans to hate on Kim. haha I just think it's hilarious how nutty fans can get. He's not even 17 right? That's not only illegal but Kim can do way better. Sorry Beiber fans!

Just a quick post for today! Happy Wednesdee! The week is almost over everyone, hang in there! :) Until tomorrow!

DayAtTheMuseum

I'm sorry I haven't kept up with posting this week! My mother was a cleaning fool this past week and therefore I had to be as well. :/ Saturday was my first day of work at Loft. I was in the fitting rooms for four hours, but wasn't bad at all. I think that'd be the best fit and most fun for me. :) After working, I hurried home for my family reunion (pretty much). It was great to catch up and see everyone. There are two new babies in the family and they're just adorable. I can't get enough of them!

Sunday I spent a lovely afternoon at a local museum with my sister, uncle and two aunts. I could look at the art all day. There's something about museums that just calms me. My aunts are great sewers, so they wanted to check out an exhibition on art quilts. The quilts were more than just blankets--they were more intricate than a lot of the paintings I've seen in the past. Everyone really enjoyed themselves and it was a very nice trip! I took some photos inside the museum but I couldn't use a flash; it's hard to see all the details in the skirt and tights. Sorry all!

LOVED this couch! Don't worry I was allowed to sit on it!

taupe top~old navy
floral black tights~f21

There weren't just paintings, photographs, and statues. There were great vintage furniture pieces such as this piano, the couch in previous photos, desks, and chairs. All of which I wanted to take home with me.
Beautiful stained glass window I want to have in my house someday. :D

The tights have a floral pattern with tints of taupe which matched my brocade skirt! I chose this soft, draped top, that is cut on the bias, to go with this textured skirt to add a different element to the outfit. This shirt is also extremely comfortable and great with skinny jeans. If you want to dress down the skirt, wear it with your favorite tee!

I had to post a picture of this statue. While we were all walking out, my uncle suddenly struck a pose...this pose! hahaha

My pages still aren't working and I don't want to change my background design. I have decided to just post weekly on the home page regarding those subjects. :D That's the easiest solution I have because I'm not so tech savvy.

I will be working a few days this week but will also be enjoying a full week of family fun and amazing food! My dad's family sure can cook! Food brings a family together..that's definitely true about my family. What about yours?

TightsAndStripes

It's finally cool enough for boots and tights, and I'm loving every minute of it! I love adding vibrant or unexpected color to an outfit. My color of choice for this outfit is my purple tights from forever 21! I've never had purple tights! I tend to keep it safe with tights and I usually go for lace, black, fishnet or white.

I'm in love with this hat! I want one in every color of the rainbow please!

I have such exciting news!! I got accepted into the Art Institute for Fashion and Retail Management!! :D I didn't realize how many careers I could get out of that major...product sourcing and import coordinator, assistant buyer, visual merchandiser, stylist, and special event coordinator. Gotta start somewhere but those sound fab to me! :) I started off going to a local university as an undecided major. Two years later I finally figured it out. I finally feel I know what I love and want to do. I just have to roll with it. Be me.

The art institute is amazing as soon as you walk in. You're surrounded by inspiring students' artwork throughout the halls. It's smaller than my old university but I like having smaller classrooms. It has a homey vibe. I hope to start the first week of October. It can't come soon enough! AND I officially start Ann Taylor Loft on Saturday woot! Hope everyone is having a great week so far! :)

VMAS

I'm sure a lot of you watched or at least heard about the VMAs. I was so excited to hear Chelsea Handler was hosting. I love her! I want to be her when I grow up. :D I was, however, disappointed with her hosting duties. I felt like the whole show was rushed through. But that doesn't mean there weren't some great moments! Fashion, Gaga, and performances. I thought Florence and the Machine, Paramore, and Usher did such a great job! Taylor Swift and Kanye only furthered their embarrassment as far as I'm concerned.

Best Dressed Female

Lady Gaga

Alexander McQueen's last collection

Her white carpet look was stunning with this work of art draped around her body. I wasn't a fan of the gold metal feathers in her hair though. I would of liked if she pulled her hair up so that we could see the top of the dress better. This dress reminds me of something medieval/renaissance ish? I think it's the colors.

Jackass Cast

They're always keeping it classy. haha I don't care if they're obnoxious, gross and crude. They are hilarious. I want to marry Johnny Knoxville. How cute did he look in his sailor pre show outfit? I can't wait to go see the movie; the clip of Bam getting slapped in the face was genius! I wish I could pull pranks like that everyday!

Best Dressed Male(s)

30 Seconds to Mars

They all color coordinated well. Jared wins this for them all. He looked amazing in his Burberry coat :). It's very futuristic. I want one!

Katy Perry & Ashley Greene
They both chose black lace and white for their dresses. I would have liked to of seen a little more color on the "white" carpet. Everyone would of popped! Mostly everyone kept it classy and flirty with mini dresses.

Did you notice Katy's "Brand" mani?

Lady Gaga certainly stole the show(as she always does) with her crazy fashion. The most talked about was this meat dress created by Franc Fernandez. Yes, that was REAL MEAT she was wearing. Check out this website to get the 411 about this dress..preparation, inspiration and even how lady gaga felt wearing it! http://style.mtv.com/2010/09/13/2010-vmas-lady-gaga-meat-dress-real/

This is certainly one of her craziest but we should just expect that from her from now on..right? With all the criticism she has been receiving she wanted everyone to know she meant no disrespect. She's no peice of meat either. I was truly touched by her acceptance speeches and reaction. She's such a genuine great person. Live.love.Gaga? I think I'll trademark it ;)

What was your favorite moment? Who did you think best male and female was?
New playlist:
Katy Perry~Teenage Dream
Ke$ha~Take it Off
Rhianna~Rockstar
Florence and the Machine~Dog Days
Sara Bareillas~King of Anything
Hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do! :D
I'm still waiting for the main attraction of the next DIY project to arrive. It's taking me longer than expected. Hopefully it'll come in this week and I can get a big chunk of it done!
xoxo

p.s. did anyone watch gossip girl?! the reason I write "xoxo". haha It was good. That show is full of cliff hangers. It looks like it'll be a great season as usual. The fashion, NYC, and premiere (part of it) took place in PARIS! What else could you ask for in a show!?

BeautyProducts

As promised, here is my first beauty post! :) I think it's a good idea to change it up. It's a great way for you all to get to know me better and for me to get to know you better! I love to hear what you have to say! Here are just a few of my favorite beauty products! Enjoy! :)

Revlon
Just Bitten ~Passion
I first showed you this product in my "6thgradeskort" post. It's a lip balm + lip stain. Instead of using the balm, I use a clear lipgloss for more shine. It's great to add a burst of color to a nude face.

MAC

Liquidlast Liner, Angle Brush & Eye Shadow

MAC is my favorite brands of make up. It applies evenly and blends well. They have TONS of different color eyeshadows for your fun pleasure! And great brushes to help you put it all on! I use liquid liner or eyeshadow for eye liner. I rarely use a pencil. I'm not opposed; I just like the "look" of the shadow and liner. The liquid liner pictured is the my favorite shade (Aqualine).

Maybelline New York
Dream Matte Mousse~ natural ivory light 3 (that's me!)
The Colossal Volum' Express Mascara ~ glam black
The mascara does not make my lashes look like the girl's lashes in the commercials (surprise! ha) But I have used this mascara for quite some time and really like how it applies and stays on. One thing I've learned..it's best to start with a clean slate (this applies to all make up). I can't put another layer over yesterdays. It does not work that way.
The mousse is really a dream. It's the best and only product I use for foundation. I cover my blemishes and dark circles under my eyes. After only doing that step, I already feel so much better! It doesn't clump and they're different shades to match your skin tone perfectly! :)

Sally Hansen
Complete Salon Manicure
I have Yellow Kitty Creme and Calypso Blue (so far). The Calypso Blue is actually the (from left to right) 4th nail polish shown in the picture. It's a vibrant blue; I love it! It's called Complete Salon Manicure because one bottle contains all 5 steps of a manicure--Base coat, strengthener, growth treatment, color, and top coat. Doing your own manicure at home has never been so easy! There are 42 beautiful shades too! :)

Too Faced
Caribbean in a Compact~Snow Bunny

It's the perfect natural bronzer. I start with foundation and then brush my face with this product. I feel like I just got back from the beach, and that every blemish is suddenly less noticeable. The mixture of colors creates a great glow to your face. It's shimmer makes your face shine!

Urban Decay
Deluxe Shadow Box

This product features 9 eyeshadow shades and a vial of eyeshadow primer potion. The shades have really cute names too-fishnet, honey, ransom, graffiti, zero, peace, shag, scratch, and underground. Cute, right?! :) It also magnetically closes so you don't have to worry about eyeshadow getting all over the inside of your purse!

Ulta
Baked Eyeshadow~Plum Gorgeous

Great color combination and goes on smoothly. Shades of purple are GREAT for green eyes (which I have); it really makes the green POP! :) With the two different shades in one, you can easily do a smokey eye to light and subtle.

What are some of your favorite beauty products? I love to try different ones and experiment with make up! If anyone knows a great oil-free make up remover, please let me know! I am in need of one desperately! :)

Happy Friday everyone! :) Have a greaaattt weekend!

RaceyLacey

Don't do this at home kids. I had adult supervision. ;)

white jeans (mmmgood)~express

yellow blazer~ 80s vintage
shoulder pads included!

shear black lace top~f21
Niice graffiti!
this "look" reminds me of ke$ha...ya I woke up this morning feelin' like P.Diddy
key necklace~american eagle
blue beaded bracelet~ann taylor
black bead layered necklace~express
rings~claires

Black lace was the perfect top for the heat today. (The weather really needs to make up its mind!) My jeans, however, were not. They looked too cute together to not pair them though! A little sweat never hurt anyone.

Taking pictures by the railroad tracks made me feel like senior pictures all over again. It's a phenom place for pictures though! The trees are still green and I just love the background. Although fall and leaves changing (and my bday) are neat too! As I mentioned in my previous post, I was going to show you all a different side of my style and new locations I've discovered. I unfortunately wouldn't be able to wear this work but slide a tank top over my bright sky blue bra and it's definitely work attire.

If you noticed the turquoise tint under my eyes, its the amazing MAC liquid eyeliner. It lasts all day and doesn't smudge, so with my Loft training tomorrow I hope they don't mind a little fun make up! :) I love experimenting with my makeup so, maybe my next post will be about beauty...to change it up a bit! :) Gotta keep it fresh!

I'm going to change my music tonight too..so keep your ears open! I think I'm going to do a mix of what I'm listening to right now! Katy Perry~ Teenage Dream will def. be on there :p I can't seem to get enough of it. Maybe Ke$ha will stop by too. You'll have to wait and listen!

40sThrowback

The long weekend has come to an end :(. I hope everyone enjoyed it where ever you may be in the world. I spent the weekend with family and eating tons of food. Ha Well that's every family get together for me. We LOVE our food and everyone in the fam can really cook. The two newest editions to our family are walking, talking, and cute as can be. I'm glad to live close to my family and see them often.
This look is forties inspired all the way to the hair (which my sis did). She is so muli-talented..it's amazing and lucky for me :).
I love my bangs like this, because my bangs are in the annoying inbetween stage! I'm growing them out because I don't think I want them short right now but they just do NOT want to grow. How stubborn of them! I try to find as many ways to pin them back as I can at this point.

There's a smile for youuu. I think I was mid laughing but it works. I am slowly becoming more comfortable in front of the camera. To be honest, I'd rather be behind it. I love taking pictures! I'll leave that work for my sister though! :p I don't want to come off like I'm modeling because I'm so not a model. I just want to have fun..show my personality and style.

I'm so excited to put this look together with my new purse and necklace. (I tweeted about my necklace and purse before.) While I was on vacation at the beach with my family I came across this wild flower necklace. ;) It reminded me of my post "what I'm loving" and the necklace from Urban Outfitters. If you look back to that post, same necklace different placement of the flowers and way cheaper! Woot! My sister bought this purse for me at a huge sidewalk sale in Santa Cruz, California. Isn't she the best? :) I sooo want to go there next year! She took pictures of the racks of vintage clothing, furniture and really rad people!

brown wedges with gold buckle~fiona

Wow. I have so much floral. It's kinda sickening, but I love it! :) I will be posting completely different styles next. I realize I need to switch it up and show you more of my style. I found a few great new locations for shoots and some great family vintage. Perrrfect match if you ask me but I'll let you be the judge. ;)

P.S. I just signed up for chictopia! Check it outt! I'm not completely sure how it works yet. Add me as a friend if you're on there ;) Yeah I have no idea. Will someone explain it to me? All I know is there are tons of fashionistas on there AND I'd like to be apart of it.
